Recipe Box

Privacy Policy — Last updated April 2026

Recipe Box is a personal cookbook app built for home cooks. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.

Data Storage

All data — your recipes, shopping lists, meal plans, and collections — is stored locally on your device only using SQLite. No data is uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party. Your recipes stay on your phone.

Camera & Photo Library

Recipe Box requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you photograph recipe pages for import. Photos are processed on-device for text recognition. Images you choose to attach to recipes are saved locally on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

Reminders

If you choose to use the shopping list feature, Recipe Box requests access to your Reminders app to add ingredients to a list of your choosing. This access is optional and only used when you tap the "Send to Reminders" button.

Speech

Cook Mode can read recipe steps aloud using your device's built-in text-to-speech. This is processed entirely on-device and no audio is recorded or transmitted.

No Accounts, No Tracking

Recipe Box does not require you to create an account. The app does not collect any personal information, does not use analytics, does not display advertising, and does not track your usage.

Third-Party Services

Recipe Box does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

Children

Recipe Box does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
